The village of Byron Center is located within Byron Township, the southwest corner of Kent County and in the heart of West Michigan. With US 131 running north/south and M-6 running east/west through the township, it provides an easy communte to Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, the lakeshore communities of Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon. We are 25 minutes to the Gerald R Ford International Airport and within an hours drive to our state capital, Lansing. In the northeast corner of Byron Township is the village of Cutlerville which shares its eastern boarder with Gaines Township.
Our community is diverse in its land use from rolling farms, suburban neighborhoods, thriving commerical districts to 21st Century industrial developments. We are extremely proud to be served by our award winning public and Christian schools as well as a strong faith based community. Byron Township boast a tremendous Parks and Recreation department which is located in the community center at Whistlestop Park. Our community center offers a state of the art exercise/fitness center, multipurpose activity courts, meeting rooms for community organizations which includes a full kitchen facility. Both Whistlestop and Bicentennial Parks offer soccer, baseball, softball and tennis courts. You will also find a skate park, walking trails and a fully stocked trout pond. We also offer 2 exceptional Kent County parks at Douglas Walker Park and Brewer Park.
